The 2012 Golden Globe Awards

The nominees were just announced for the 2012 Golden Globe Awards, set to take place on January 15th. This will be the 69th year for the award ceremony, and like previous ones, there were a lot of big names and A-list actors nominated. Like with any other awards though, there were some shows and actors who the general public felt were snubbed.

Some of the biggest surprises were revolving around popular NBC comedy series. Not receiving any reorganization yet again was the show “Community”, not quite as high in the ratings, it does have a solid group of loyal watchers. Also left out of the best comedy series were their shows “Parks and Recreations”, “30 Rock” and “The Office”, which received no nominations at all.

Other comedy works getting the snub were Jim Parsons for best actor in “The Bing Bang Theory” even though he won an Emmy last year for the same category. Louis CK was also left out of the best actor category for his show on FX. However, the biggest shock came in the category of best TV series drama, in which “Breaking Bad” was not mentioned.

One actor who is cashing in big time though is Ryan Gosling. One of the hottest rising Hollywood stars this year, he is truly being a force to be reckon with. The very talented youngster received two nominations. One was for best actor in a comedy for his role in “Crazy, Stupid, Love” while the other was best actor in a drama for his performance in “The Ides of March”.
