My Body Composition Experiment Through a Diet Change

One year ago I married a wonderful man. I can’t believe how quickly time seems to fly, not that I am complaining. Your first year of marriage is a great and exciting year! I love every memory that we’ve made. Including my decision to try and go vegan.

My husband thinks I am crazy but I think it’s a great way to start the next year off. We’ve always been insanely clean eaters however I have read so many recent books and studied tons of research that supports this lifestyle so then why not try it for just a month to see what happens?

My workout plans are going to be upped for the next month as well to help recover from our vacation eating and lack of normal exercise routines. I say normal because I did get a few decent workouts in.

The real reasons why I want to try vegan is because I am always up for a challenge. I like to experiment with my own body to see how it responds to diets and workouts. Plus, it’s only a month. If I don’t like it then ok fine, back to chicken! If I do like the results, which hopefully will include increased energy, healthy skin, decreased body fat, etc… then who knows I might just adopt it into the life.

No, my husband is not on board. He will still enjoy his meats while I go vegan. To help it go a bit smoother for our lifestyle, I have already cooked up huge pots of two great vegan meals for me… I am separating them into servings sizes and freezing them. That way, I still only have to cook one meal at night.

I’ve been playing a lot with different beans and grains. For example I made a navy bean and whole wheat pasta salad last night that looks delicious. I’ll have to wait till lunch today to give it a try. On the stove now are chick peas cooling off in which I plan to make a chick pea salad with dill, peppers, and a few other fresh veggies.
